We are excited to announce the winners of our Public School Grant Program! Over 1500 Missoulians participated in an online vote last week to determine which five educational programs – out of 11 outstanding finalists — would receive a $1000 grant from Recycling Works.
Thank you to all who took the time to vote in support of your local Public School Program. At every step of the process, we’ve been blown away by the public response. We feel so grateful to serve a community that is committed to providing a better educational experience for our youth.
Without further ado, here are the Public School Grant Program winners:
Our top overall vote-getter was the YWCA’s GUTS! (Girls Using Their Strengths) program, a unique, community-based leadership and empowerment program designed by and for young women. Learn more about GUTS! here.
Our second winner was The Flagship Program, which offers a school-based experience in mentoring and skill building in seven Missoula County Public Schools. Learn more about The Flagship Program here.
Coming in third was SPARK! Arts Ignite Learning, a community-wide partnership working to expand arts programming in Missoula County Public Schools. Learn more about SPARK! Arts here.
Our fourth winner was the Missoula Butterfly House and Insectarium, which brings engaging educational opportunities to classrooms and inspires an appreciation and understanding of insects and their relatives. Learn more about the Missoula Butterfly House and Insectarium here.
